The Hideaway's golf memberships are private-equity memberships providing an exclusive golf environment of no more than 225 members per 18 holes.
The club features two distinct and dramatic, par 72 18-hole courses, one designed by famed British architect Clive Clark and the other by the legendary Pete Dye.
The Pete
Dye Course
Designed by Pete Dye, this links-inspired course was the first at the Hideaway, completed in 2001. Each hole presents a journey down a rolling fairway bordered by native grasses that gives way to wide strips of sand or to strategically placed streams and ponds. Sand and water begin or end each hole, lining the edges of the greens or expanding in front of elevated tees.
Pete Dye is one of the most influential and creative golf course designers in the history of the game. His courses challenge the most accomplished golfers, yet they are accessible and enjoyable for players of all skill levels. Pete Dye's designs are also noted as environmentally safe and protective of the local surroundings, features that characterize his work at the Hideaway.
The Clive
Clark Course
Designed by Clive Clark, this 18-hole course was inspired by the Southern California landscape yet it’s also reminiscent of the courses Clark designed in the British Isles. Each hole has a distinct personality, characterized by cascading waterfalls, for example, or vivid desert wildflowers. Gently rolling fairways play to broad greens, offering an immensely playable yet challenging round of golf.
A British golfing great, Clive Clark spent 12 years on the professional golf circuit in England, winning five European titles and earning two top-10 finishes in the British Open. He was also a member of the Walker and Ryder Cup teams. Since 1987 Mr. Clark has designed more than 20 golf courses in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Europe, and the U.S.
